Meet Our Founder
Innocent Ndagijimana, the visionary founder of Nature Our Teacher, is a passionate Rwandese researcher, environmentalist, and author. With a deep interest in environmental education, animal conservation, and wildlife programs, his journey began right after high school when he pursued Tourism studies.
He went on to earn a diploma in Wildlife Management from Kitabi College of Conservation and Environmental Management (KCCEM) and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from the Institut Catholique de Kabgayi (ICK).
His internships at Volcanoes National Park fueled his passion for wildlife, leading to a remarkable 17-year career as a Park Ranger at Nyungwe and a guide and boat captain at Akagera National Park.
Our Story
Innocent Ndagijimana, a dedicated environmentalist environmentalist and professional tourist guide, has spent over 16 years working in Rwanda’s national
parks, including Nyungwe, Volcanoes, and Akagera.
His deep connection to these landscapes led him to NATURE RIGHTS PLUS, driven by the challenges he faced, such as limited resources and the need for accurate wildlife information .Recognizing the lack
of comprehensive literature on Rwanda’s wildlife,
Innocent began gathering and refining data, often collaborating with passionate individuals and receiving support from park managers and the Rwanda Development Board.
This journey culminated in the creation of NATURE RIGHTS PLUS, with a mission to promote Rwanda’s cultural heritage through wildlife-focused publications. NATURE RIGHTS PLUS aims to support government initiatives by providing culturally rich books to schools across Rwanda, with ongoing efforts to translate these works into multiple languages, ensuring that Rwanda’s wildlife and cultural values are accessible to a global audience.
